As Compliance Director, you will be responsible for local compliance management, monitor compliance-related laws and regulations, conduct local compliance risk assessment, localize compliance policies and procedures, provide compliance training and advisory, etc. 

 

You will work closely with the HQ Compliance Team, especially the COE (Center of Expertise) team.

Department Description

 

As Compliance Director, you’ll be joining an organization where people of all backgrounds and experiences are respected, and where we work together focused on changing lives.

 

In this role you’ll be reporting to the Head of Global Business Compliance.

 

Your Responsibilities

 

  • In this role, you will conduct risk assessments of the existing compliance framework to identify compliance risk of the local site. 
  • Work with the HQ COE team to localize compliance policies and implement the procedures to ensure alignment with local laws. 
  • Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to provide compliance training sessions for employees and staff in the local site. 
  • Establish effective communication channels between HQ and local site to address compliance queries and provide timely compliance advisory services to the local site.  
  • Establish and maintain a robust and effective compliance program in Ireland. 
  • Develop a culture of compliance within the local site. 
  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders to foster cooperation and collaboration on compliance-related matters, serve as a subject matter expert on compliance matters for the local site, providing guidance and support to the local site and HQ team.
  • Specifically, this position can take on the following responsibilities:   
  • Laws and Regulations Monitoring: Monitor local legal & regulatory changes affecting the company’s business and to work with COE to identify compliance risks, including but not limited to: 
    • Trade secret protection. 
    • Data privacy and GDPR. 
    • Export control and sanctions.
    • Anti-bribery 
    • Anti-corruption. 
    • Conflict of interest. 
    • Antitrust and countervailing. 
  • Risk Assessment: Conduct local compliance risk assessments, identify the key compliance risks, formulate corresponding action plans, and communicate with local management and to share with COE. 
  • Policy and Process: Localize compliance policies and SOPs to fit for the local business requirements; conduct gap analysis and ensure compliance of local policy and SOPs 
  • Training: Prepare compliance training materials by working with COE, and conduct compliance training for the local team 
  • Compliance Advisory: Advise on day-to-day compliance matters and queries per compliance policies and SOPs 
  • Compliance Operation: Work closely with the site operation team and other related business team to implement compliance policies and SOPs, including but not limit to providing compliance training for new compliance requirement and sharing the monthly report and compliance practices. 
  • Compliance Responses: Communicate on behalf of the compliance team with the local regulatory agencies, and other compliance incident stakeholders. 
  • Investigation: Support the local investigation per the instruction of the line manager.   
  • Assist the other GBC team members with other duties designated as needed. 
  • Be flexible to take on additional tasks and responsibilities at the discretion of the Site Lead with approvement from the line manager, 
  • Serve as a role model for the compliance function, adhering to the company's core values and PROUD culture. 

 

 

Your Profile

 

The ideal candidate for this position, will have the following:

 

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree at a minmimum

 

Knowledge/Experience

 

Required:

  • Legal, internal audit, risk management, compliance, internal control, or other related background. 
  • Ideally 10+ years experience in compliance and risk management.  
  • Prior experience in a global working environment preferable.
  • Experience in the biotech or biomanufacturing sector preferable.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop partnerships and relationships throughout the organization as well as with key external stakeholders.  
  • Dedicated and self-motivated, honest, open, and transparent.
