Senior Warehouse Manager

Reporting to EU Supply Chain Leadership, this role is responsible for operation of the Warehouse function in Germany including business planning and all day-to-day operations of the site warehouse and 3PL.  Developing key relationships with internal and external stakeholders, this role will oversee the smooth operations as per site capacity and associated plans. Responsible for systems, KPIs’, reporting and team leadership, this role will ensure manufacturing requirements are supported in adherence to all local and global best practices, policies, procedures and applicable regulations.

Department Description

As Senior Warehouse Manager, you will be joining an organization where people of all backgrounds and experiences are respected, and where we work together focused on changing lives.  In this role you will report to the EU Head of Supply Chain.

 

Key responsibilities will include:

  • A key member of the Supply Chain Management team for WuXi Biologics. The holder of this role will play a critical role in both the Supply Chain functional operation and broader business processes, ensuring cross functional collaboration and leadership execution.
  • The role will require extensive liaison with stakeholders and business leaders on site, across the WuXi Biologics network and externally. This requires a collaborative and ‘can do’ attitude to ensure the highest level of professional representation of WuXi Biologics and the Supply Chain organisation.
  • Assume full responsibility for leadership of on-site and 3PL warehouse management in Germany.
  • Set local functional goals and KPI’s, aligned with Global Supply Chain Management and the site business strategy.
  • Responsible for the leadership and development of the Warehouse team, whether within WuXi Biologic’s resources or through 3PL, in the successful delivery of all associated functional objectives and KPI’s.
  • Ensure timely, secure and accurate receiving, storing, picking/dispatching and distribution of materials and products by the Warehouse. 
  • Collaborate closely with finance and operations department on CAPEX management and physical inventory counting/accuracy.
  • Establish and maintain all warehouse resources, capacity and 3PL services to meet current and future requirements.
  • Ensure cGMP compliance adherence and compliance to all regulatory and WuXi Biologics standards and requirements within the Warehouse function. 
  • Be responsible for full management of all warehouse GMP standards and activities. Including SOPs, deviation, CAPA and Change Management and lead representation of Supply Chain and our business for audit and inspection purposes from clients and regulatory bodies. 
  • Work with PEV and other applicable departments to ensure effective execution and maintenance of validation requirements. 
  • Be responsible for lean operation, department budget and expense management. Ensure facilities, equipment and service providers are managed effectively.
  • Deliver on the continuous improvement in warehouse operations through the lens of people, safety, quality, delivery and cost.
  • Will be flexible to take on additional tasks and responsibilities at the discretion of the Supply Chain Director, including the provision of cover and support for other supply chain functions if required.
  • Act as a role model for the Supply Chain function and the wider organisation in adherence to the WuXi corporate core values and PROUD culture.

 

 

Person Specification:

 

Qualifications:

  • Diploma or above qualified in Supply chain, business administration or other relevant education preferred. Significant experience will be taken into consideration.

 

 

Technical Competencies/Experience Required:

  • Significant Warehouse related experience in a Pharmaceutical environment or similar highly regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrate a well-rounded exposure to all areas of this discipline, in particular GMP considerations and inventory control.
  • Experience in owning / driving functional and cross function team excellence/business performance. 
  • Experience managing or working closely with a 3PL in a warehousing arrangement highly advantageous.
  • Familiarity with SAP, WMS system, ERP system and Office software.

 

 

Knowledge

  • Must have a proven track record of progressively increased responsibility within a Warehouse environment
  • Significant expertise in SAP and related warehouse management processes and systems.
  • Familiar with requirements of cGMP regulations in warehouse management and GMP cold chain transportation.

  • Ability to interact well with all levels of staff, including senior management, with excellent problem solving and capabilities.
  • A strong work ethic with a proven track record identifying and delivering continuous improvement opportunities within a Warehouse function.
  • Excellent project management skills with ability to handle multiple projects at once.
  • Highly collaborative with strong leadership, initiative and team development capability.
