Senior Director of Compliance

                                                                                                                                       

Job Summary

 

As the head of compliance management for overseas and the compliance officer for the region, you will have the opportunity to learn and grow in a challenging environment. Report to and support the General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer in the development and maintenance of a strong global compliance framework in the sites in U.S., Europe and Singapore (“Overseas Sites”). You will navigate complex global challenges in a highly fluid regulatory environment, work closely with the HQ compliance team, especially the COE (Center of Expertise) team.

 

Responsibilities

  • Laws and Regulations Monitoring: Monitor legal & regulatory changes in overseas jurisdictions affecting the company’s business and to work with COE to identify compliance risks, including but not limited to:
      • Trade secret protection
      • Data privacy
      • Export control and sanctions
      • Anti-bribery
      • Anti-corruption
      • Conflict of interest
      • Antitrust and Countervailing.
  • Risk Assessment: Conduct local compliance risk assessments in overseas sites, identify the key compliance risks, formulate corresponding action plans, and communicate with local management and to share with COE
  • Policy and Process: Lead overseas compliance team to localize compliance policies and SOPs to fit for the local business requirements; conduct gap analysis and ensure compliance of local policy and SOPs in the overseas sites
  • Training: Lead overseas compliance team to prepare compliance training materials for overseas sites by working with COE, and conduct compliance training for the local team
  • Compliance Advisory: Lead overseas compliance team to advise on day-to-day compliance matters and queries per compliance policies and SOPs
  • Compliance Operation: Join on behalf of the compliance team in the local management, and the site operation committee
  • Compliance Responses: Communicate on behalf of the compliance team with the local regulatory agencies, and other compliance incident stakeholders
  • Investigation: Lead overseas compliance team to support the local investigation per the instruction of the General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer
  • Assist the General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer with other duties designated from time to time

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or above
  • Minimum 10 years’ experiences in compliance and risk management
  • Practical experience in building compliance system from scratch
  • Have a great business sense and be able to formulate compliance strategies suitable for business
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop partnerships and relationships throughout the organization as well as with key external stakeholders
  • Proven crisis management skills, including ability to mobilize, lead, and prioritize quickly in the face of escalated incidents
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare and conduct presentations and communicate with senior and executive management
  • Dedicated and self-motivated, honest, open and transparent
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • A graduate or JD degree is not a must but a plus
  • Ability to interpret regulations and analyse impacts is not a must but a plus
  • Experience in the biotech or biomanufacturing sector is not a must but a plus
  • Prior experience in a global working environment is not a must but a plus.
